Employment record since master degree

• March 2004 to today: working at ST Microelectronics in Catania (Italy) as a product engineer with the Memory Production Group (MPG).
• November 2001 to February 2004: working as a researcher at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Messina (Italy) with a 4-year grant for the project “Smart High Performance Computing”. During this period he has worked as:
  • researcher in the field of unsupervised learning on traditional and distributed Systems. Unsupervised learning techniques are used for data compression, classification purposes and statistical modeling of data. All of the algorithms developed have been developed in C, C++ and Java;
  • researcher in the field of digital hardware. In particular he has worked with architectures and algorithms for communications networks. The synthesis of the projects has been performed on Altera FPGA devices.
  • co-designer and system manager of PACOLAB, a laboratory for high-performance distributed computing at the University of Messina (Italy) based on the Linux operating system;
  • speaker of many seminars at the University of Messina for classes in computer networks and computer architecture;
  • co-supervisor of many master thesis in computer science;
  • member of examining boards for several classes in computer science.
• October 1998 to October 2001: cohoperating with the “Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering” of the University of Catania (Italy) and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Messina (Italy). During this period he has achieved the Ph.D degree.
