Operating Systems
UNIX and LINUX
- Very good knowledge of LINUX and, in particular, of networking. Such a
knowledge has been mainly developed thanks to the administration of the computer
system of his research group. Giuseppe Patanè has been performing this since
the period of his master theses. A remarkable know-how has been acquired because
of the management of the MULTISOFT machine, a cluster of PCs for distributed
computing that will be described in the related
section. In particular, he has dealt with:

- Expert user of Win 95, Win 98, Win Me, Win NT, Win 2000.
- knowledge of Windows domain management by Win NT. It has been acquired
during the period when Giuseppe Patanè was the organizer of the computer
system at the ``Prefettura'' of Messina.
